&lt;p&gt;CAG invites you to the 16th annual professional development experience that will introduce you to 16 new strategies that reinforce critical thinking, problem solving, teaching the classics, introduction to the disciplines, creativity, use of technology, and developing political savvy students. Start the school year with curriculum and instructional strategies to respond to intervention and differentiate the curriculum for gifted and talented students. Back by popular demand, an optional novice session on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.&lt;br /&gt;
If you are interested in:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;participating as an apprentice to teach alongside a master teacher&lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;designing your own curriculum&lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;launching a new type of gifted/talented program at your school&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For an additional $25, you can register for an introductory session for those new to differentiation. This session on Tuesday, July 24th, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm will help registered attendees better understand the demonstration lessons they will observe on July 25-27th. Among topics to be covered will be depth and complexity, use of universal themes, and independent study.&lt;/p&gt; 		</description>

to get ready for the challenge in the 2012-2013 school year!!!&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Rigorous lessons will focus on critical thinking, problem solving, studying the classics, introduction to psychology, creativity, use of technology, and developing your political savvy.&amp;nbsp; Start the school year with new ideas and strategies to tackle the topics of study to come. Meet other serious scholars who welcome the challenge of advanced work.California Association for the Gifted and the Oceanside Unified School District would like to invite &lt;span style=&quot;text-decoration: underline;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;gifted and advanced students who are currently in grades 1-8 &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;to participate in a special summer school program. It will be held at Martin Luther King Middle School in Oceanside, CA, August 6-10, 2012. This summer school will be in combination with a three-day demonstration school for teachers to learn how to implement differentiation in the classroom. Your child&amp;rsquo;s class will be observed on August 8, 9, and 10th. Students in this special program will be asked to practice their best thinking as the CAG demonstration teachers guide them through exciting and challenging learning experiences in science, math, social studies, and language arts.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;COST:&lt;/strong&gt; The cost for the five days is $125.&amp;nbsp; Limited scholarships are available.&amp;nbsp; Sign up on the CAG website at www.cagifted.org.&amp;nbsp; Students must be GATE identified or have a teacher recommendation. The number of students per grade is limited to 25 students per teacher. The absolute deadline for registration is June 1, 2012. Be sure to list your grade for the 2011-2012 school year on the registration form. It is important to respond quickly before it all spaces are filled.&lt;/p&gt; 		</description>
